12:00 – 3:00PM ($45)
|You know how to improvise a song. You’re cool with structure. You’re ready to take your singprov to the next level. Style is the answer. Commitment to style accounts for 90% of the gut laughs in musical improv but for some strange reason only 10% of our focus. In this workshop, we take a deep-dive down the rabbit hole of genre. We explore how easy and powerful style parody can be for fostering fun, group mind, and audience connection. We break style down into the vocal, physical and musical components that will unlock the secrets of the never-ending list of genres just waiting out there for you to explore. If you’re gonna sing, do it with style. Pre-requisites: at least 6 months of formal musical improv training, and a solid understanding of basic song structures (like verse/chorus, bridge, tagline, etc)
